Adidas

I love this lad. He's Austrian, I'm fairly sure, with what I consider a good example of a typically Austrian "look". His name's Peter, apparently, and, as the costume would suggest, he's a wrestler.

Photos of him have appeared on the German SPORTFotos-online website, but I have a funny feeling he was actually one of Roman Glaser's boys at his NovelArt studio in Vienna. (Glaser doesn't do photos of kiddies anymore and confines himself, so far as I can tell, to sports photos of grownups.)

Adidas, of course, are one of those infamous (or not-so-famously-as-they-should-be) "Nazi" brands. Needless to say, the letters of the name do not stand for 'All Day I Dream About Sport' (a slightly feeble "backronym"). In truth, the company was named after its founder, Adolf ("Adi") Dassler, after it split from the company that he had shared with his brother Rudolf ('Rudi'). They were both Nazis, though supposedly Rudi was the more ideologically committed.

And of course brother Rudi founded his own company, called 'Ruda', which of course was quickly renamed 'Puma'.
