... something like this happens.Interestingly there hasn't been the sort of outcry about evil rightwing Scout groups that there would no doubt have been France had something like this happened there (or, I suppose, in Poland, for that matter). On the other hand, maybe that in and of itself says more than one would like about how irrelevant modern British Scouting is to modern British life. It's not even interesting enough to be condemned.
Indeed, the whole story smells decidedly iffy, even if that is just my own paranoia talking. If there is any truth to it (and to be honest the police are highly unlikely to get anywhere near the bottom of it) then what can one really say?
As if Scouting's founder hadn't been doing enough somersaults in his grave in the last fifty years!
