There's a bizarre little rant here [H/T: {feuilleton}] about Orson Scott Card's new book. It's called Hamlet's Father and is apparently a spooky re-writing of Shakespeare's most famous play that includes modern psychological twists to do with child molestation (presumably in a similar manner to modern renditions of The Turn of the Screw and so on).
Could be interesting, you'd think? Unfortunately the gay literary Left are now so obssessed with OSC's Mormonism that they're not going to give him an inch ever again.
To my mind, if you can read Songmaster and still think that Card is a homophobe then you could have taught Joseph McCarthy a thing or two about paranoia. At least at this rate though Hollywood isn't going to be ruining Ender's Game any time soon.
